The start of October is your last chance of the year to book on to Albury’s popular vineyard tour and tasting experience, which begins with an introduction to English wine, followed by a guided walk though the vineyard overlooking the beautiful Surrey Hills. Your tour finishes with a guided tasting of Albury’s award-winning wines.

Harvest experiences at Albury
Get hands-on with English wine this harvest by volunteering for a grape-picking experience with Albury Organic Vineyard - there are a number of dates to get among the vines this September. We find the wine always tastes a little better having seen the work behind the scenes. For a more leisurely experience, Albury is hosting a Harvest Lunch on Saturday October 10.

Cheese and Wine Tasting
Enjoy a talk and tasting of Albury Estate sparkling wines with a member of the Albury team, followed by a glass of your choice accompanied by a selection of English cheese. Admire views from our tasting room over the vineyard or take a stroll amongst the vines before or after your tasting.

Opening times: Greyfriars Vineyard is open for Cellar Door Shop wine sales, self-guided tours and online order collections on the following days/times: Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm; and Sunday, 12noon to 4pm.

Vineyard Tours
Greyfriars Vineyard’s tour with wine tasting takes visitors on a guided walk through the beautiful vineyards finishing with a tutored tasting of several award-winning sparkling and still wines. The tastings normally take place on the vineyard viewing deck, making the most of the autumn sunshine, or back in the Tasting Room when the weather isn’t so friendly.

Harvest experiences at Greyfriars
Get hands-on with English wine this harvest by volunteering for a grape-picking experience with Greyfriars Vineyard - there are a number of dates to get among the vines this September. They have two dates on offer: Saturday September 19 and Saturday September 26.

Opening times: High Clandon hosts special open days every month from spring through autumn - but it is possible to book private tours for groups of at least four people throughout the year.

Experience High Clandon’s magic on their Open Days, which take place once a month throughout the warmer months of the year. On Open Days, no charge is made - so simply drop in to visit. And they welcome well-behaved dogs, too. If you wish to delight in their fabled Tour, Talk, Tasting, then please pre-book on the dates that can be found on their website.

The atmospheric Glass Barn at High Clandon has beautiful views of the garden, wildflower meadow, the Surrey Hills and even the London skyline on a good day. High Clandon host coveted Truffle and Cuvée Experience Days every winter, where visitors can learn about the mystique of truffles, the rare and delicious underground fungi, feel the excitement of the trained dogs unearthing them with their infallible noses in the secretly located truffle orchard.

Enjoy Chilworth’s English sparkling and rosé wines at The Watch House. On their vineyard tours, you can see and learn about our vines, their growth cycle and the winemaking process, as well as hearing about the fascinating history of Chilworth Manor. Opera in the Vineyard
On Wednesday September 16, 6pm to 8pm, Chilworth Manor Vineyard is partnering with Grange Park Opera for a very special evening of Opera in the vines; their first 'Autumn Happening' of the season. Enjoy a short introduction to the history of the vineyard, followed by a tasting of Chilworth Manor Vineyard wines and a performance from Nazan Fikret.

Vineyard Café
An enchanting corner of the Surrey Hills, Tanhurst Estate is only minutes away from the National Trust’s beautiful Rhododendron Wood and Leith Hill Place – the childhood home of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. Tanhurst Estate opens its Vineyard Café to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to 4pm. Their dog-friendly café serves up delicious coffees, cakes, sausage rolls and other goodies - as well as their fantastic wines, of course.
