Vineyard Visits

Visit Albury Vineyard for its welcoming and friendly experience every Saturday and Sunday - whether you know a lot about wine, or nothing at all. Enjoy a glass of bubbly in their tasting room or on the patio, where they also serve delicious cheese and charcuterie boards. Children, muddy boots and well behaved dogs on leads welcome.

Surrey Hills Wine Week

The annual Albury Wine Festival is a relaxed summer celebration of local wine, food and music. Held during Surrey Hills Wine Week, the festival showcases the Vineyards of the Surrey Hills in a beautiful countryside setting. Spend the afternoon among the vines with a glass of award-winning Albury wine while enjoying live music, artisan food and vineyard experiences.

Wine & Cheese Tasting

Enjoy a talk and tasting of Albury Estate sparkling wines with a member of the Albury team, followed by a glass of your choice accompanied by a selection of English cheese. Admire views from their tasting room over the vineyard or take a stroll amongst the vines before or after your tasting.

 
 
 

Opening times: Denbies Wine Estate is open all year. The visitor centre opens from 9am to 5.30pm, while the Wine Library Brasserie & Bar at Denbies Vineyard Hotel is open into the evening.

Tours and Tastings

Open almost every day of the year, Denbies Wine Estate is the perfect place to explore the magic of English wine - even through the winter months. Take a walk among the dormant vines, book a table in one of their restaurants or join an indoor wine tasting experience where you will learn more about their history and the onsite wine-making process in their winery.

Surrey Hills Wine Week

As part of Surrey Hills Wine Week, Denbies Wine Estate will host two special events - a fitting celebration as the estate marks 40 years since planting its first vines. One of England’s largest single-estate vineyards, Denbies will welcome guests to a Vineyards of the Surrey Hills Tour, Tasting & Dinner on Saturday June 6, from 6pm to 10pm. Tickets must be booked in advance. Celebrations continue on Sunday from 11am to 5pm with a relaxed day of live music, pizza on the lawn, Cellar Door tastings and Surrey Hills wines. Entry is free, with tastings available to book.

Sparkling Afternoon Tea

Enjoy a leisurely sparkling afternoon tea in the peace and tranquillity of the Wine Library Brasserie & Bar. A glass of Denbies award-winning sparkling wine to accompany a delicious afternoon tea, selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones, jam and cream. Beautiful all year round, overlooking avenues of vines. Enjoy Chilworth’s English sparkling and rosé wines at The Watch House. On their vineyard tours, you can see and learn about our vines, their growth cycle and the winemaking process, as well as hearing about the fascinating history of Chilworth Manor. It's the perfect spot to try their wines together with some specially prepared pairing bites.

Surrey Hills Wine Week

Chilworth Manor Vineyard is hosting this experience in celebration of Surrey Hills Wine Week and in partnership with the Vineyards of the Surrey Hills. Join the team for a guided tasting of seven wines from across the Surrey Hills in the Watch House tasting room.

Chilworth Wine Festival

Relax and enjoy an afternoon and early evening of music, premium quality English sparkling and still rosé wine and delicious street food.  The vineyard is open to be explored from mid-afternoon to early evening. For the first time, they are also planning to end the evening with a Silent Disco!

 
 
 

Opening times: Greyfriars Vineyard is open for Cellar Door Shop wine sales, self-guided tours and online order collections from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, 12 noon to 4pm.

Vineyard tours

In the warmer months, Greyfriars Vineyard’s tours head outdoors to make the most of summer. The vineyard tour with wine tasting takes visitors on a guided walk through the beautiful vineyards finishing with a tutored tasting of several award-winning wines.

In celebration of Surrey Hills Wine Week, Greyfriars is hosting a special vineyard tour and tasing. Join them on a tour of the vineyard, learn the process of grape to glass and enjoy a tutored tasting of award-winning wine from Vineyards of the Surrey Hills, including Albury Organic Vineyard, Denbies Wine Estate and Chilworth Manor Vineyard.

Food Trucks and the Horsebox Bar

Greyfriars is hosting a wide range of local Food Truck to the vineyard again as the weather warms. On Friday May 29, settle down with Earth to Over for delicious loaded flatbreads. The Horsebox Bar is also open every Saturday from 12 noon to 7pm.

Vineyard Café

An enchanting corner of the Surrey Hills, Tanhurst Estate is only minutes away from the National Trust’s beautiful Rhododendron Wood and Leith Hill Place – the childhood home of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. Tanhurst Estate opens its Vineyard Café to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to 4pm. Their dog-friendly café serves up delicious coffees, cakes, sausage rolls and other goodies - as well as their fantastic wines, of course.

Surrey Hills Wine Week

What could be better than a leisurely morning stroll through the stunning countryside of Leith Hill, followed by a glass of exceptional local wine during Surrey Hills Wine Week? On Saturday May 30, Tanhurst Estate Vineyard will host two special ‘Stroll and Sip’ experiences, both beginning at 10am.

*New Tours & Tastings

Tanhurst recently launched their brand-new vineyard tour and tasting experiences. The tours begin with an introduction to the winemaking process of our English wine, followed by a guided stroll with picturesque Surrey Hills and a guided tasting of the full range of their wines in the tasting barn.

 
 
 

Opening times: High Clandon hosts special open days every month from spring through autumn - but it is possible to book private tours for groups of at least four people throughout the year.

Open Day Season

Experience High Clandon’s magic on their Open Days, which take place once a month (usually) throughout the warmer months of the year. On Open Days, no charge is made - so simply drop in to visit.  And they welcome well-behaved dogs, too. If you wish to delight in their fabled Tour, Talk, Tasting, then please pre-book on the dates that can be found on their website.

Art & Sculptures in the Vineyard

From June 28 to July 12, 11am to 4pm, High Clandon hosts Art & Sculptures in the Vineyard to celebrate their latest release, the Borealis Cuvée 2021 vintage.  Named after the bewitching Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis. Sip a glass of chilled English sparkling cuvée and stroll through the Wildflower Meadows, the Rose garden, the Japanese garden and Vineyard bejewelled with beautiful art and sculpture by noted artists.

Surrey Hills Wine Week

In celebration of Surrey Hills Wine Week - a celebration of the Vineyards of the Surrey Hills - Battle of the Bubbles will take place on Saturday May 30 (SOLD OUT). Pre-book High Clandon’s unique Battle of the Bubbles event - an English sparkling wines vs Champagne taste-off - and enjoy a witty, informative and fun masterclass.
