Albury Organic Vineyard, near Guildford
Albury Vineyard has five main Christmas experiences to discover. Try your hand at willow weaving with Hedges & Hurdles; craft Christmas wreaths with Plant Passion; discover Albury sparkling wines with a Christmas tasting; a Christmas Supper Club; and learn about festive pairings with an English wine and gin tasting in collaboration with Silent Pool Distillers. They've also just released The Duke's Reserve brandy.
Denbies Wine Estate, near Dorking
From Santa Express rides to Christmas party packages and indulgent dinners with all the trimmings, as well as wine tastings, of course, add a little extra Surrey Hills sparkle to your festive season among the vines at Denbies Wine Estate. And, if you want to get away from it all, book in a cosy stay at their Vineyard Hotel.
Chilworth Manor Vineyard, near Guildford
Buying a Christmas Tree has always been a special day at Chilworth Manor. This year will be the first time for the event to be hosted at the vineyard. You will still be greeted with a warm drink and Christmas treat on arrival, but you’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of fizz or Glogg from their (covered) pop-up wine bar, browse Chilworth’s festive gift collection and enjoy the views over the vineyard. There will also be a Festive Sing Along on Thursday December 11.
High Clandon Vineyard, near Guildford and Woking
Visit High Clandon Estate Vineyard for inspired festive shopping to wrap up your Christmas for the wine-lovers and loves in your life. High Clandon’s Glass Barn will sparkle with Christmas inspiration on Saturday December 6 and Sunday December 7, 11am to 4pm. Sip sparkling cuvée, savour a mince pie, shop for arts, crafts and foodie favourites.
Greyfriars Vineyard, between Farnham and Guildford
Vineyard life doesn’t stop during the colder months and, at Greyfriars Vineyard, their Winter Tours allow you the opportunity to enjoy a glass of fizz in the tasting room before going on a short, wintery walk through the vines. They are also hosting a Christmas Wreath Workshop and Wine Tasting on Thursday November 27 and a Festive Cheese and Wine Tasting on Friday December 5.
Tanhurst Estate, Leith Hill
Tanhurst Estate’s café and wine shop will remain open every weekend, from 10am to 4pm, until Christmas, selling Tanhurst Estate wines, including their still Rosé, Bacchus and Chardonnay but also their new Sparkling Rosé and Sparkling Cuvée. Visitors can sit in the heritage barn or outside overlooking the vines and can wander around the vineyard and winery free of charge. They are also offering Christmas hampers of three different sizes via the website and at the vineyard, with a selection of Tanhurst Estate wines and a combination of cheese, pâté and crackers.
