Surrey Hills Wine Week:
A celebration of Vineyards of the Surrey Hills

What happens when seven Surrey Hills vineyards come together to celebrate one extraordinary wine region?

As the last glasses were poured and the final visitors departed, one thing was clear: the inaugural Surrey Hills Wine Week exceeded all expectations.

From May 30 to June 7, Vineyards of the Surrey Hills proudly brought together our seven vineyards for a week-long celebration of English wine, inviting visitors to discover the people, places and stories behind one of the country's most exciting wine regions.

What unfolded was a remarkable showcase of collaboration, hospitality and the growing reputation of Surrey Hills wines.

Across nine days, wine lovers travelled through the Surrey Hills National Landscape, exploring vineyards, meeting producers and enjoying a programme of special events that highlighted the diversity of experiences available across our member vineyards.

From guided tastings and vineyard tours to food pairings, festivals and exclusive masterclasses, Surrey Hills Wine Week offered something for seasoned wine enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike.

Exploring the Surrey Hills wine route

Each of our vineyards brought its own unique character to the celebration. Visitors enjoyed unforgettable experiences at Albury Organic Vineyard, Chilworth Manor Vineyard, Denbies Wine Estate, Greyfriars Vineyard, High Clandon Estate Vineyard, Soloms Court Wine Estate and Tanhurst Estate Vineyard, with many choosing to visit multiple locations throughout the week to discover the breadth of wines being produced across the region.

Among the week's standout moments was High Clandon Estate Vineyard's sparkling wine masterclass with renowned wine expert Oz Clarke, while Albury Wine Festival welcomed visitors for a vibrant celebration of local food, music and wine.

Collaborative tasting events proved particularly popular, giving guests the opportunity to compare and explore wines from across the Surrey Hills and deepen their understanding of our unique terroir.

A milestone year for Surrey Hills vineyards

This year's Surrey Hills Wine Week also marked a number of significant milestones for our vineyards. We were delighted to welcome Tanhurst Estate Vineyard to our summer celebrations, while Soloms Court Wine Estate also celebrated the launch of its very first wine. At the other end of the spectrum, Denbies Wine Estate marked an extraordinary 40 years since planting its first vines, a testament to the pioneering spirit that has helped establish the Surrey Hills as a leading English wine region.

For us, however, Surrey Hills Wine Week was always about more than individual events.

It was an opportunity to showcase what makes the Vineyards of the Surrey Hills so special: a shared commitment to quality, sustainability, innovation and exceptional visitor experiences.

By coming together as a collective, we are able to tell a bigger story about our region and encourage visitors to experience the richness and diversity that exists across all our vineyards.

The enthusiasm we witnessed throughout the week was inspiring. Visitors travelled from across Surrey and beyond, discovering new vineyards, supporting local businesses and embracing the opportunity to experience English wine at its source.

The positive response from guests, partners and industry supporters reinforced what we have long known: the Surrey Hills is one of the UK's most exciting wine destinations.

As we reflect on the success of this first Surrey Hills Wine Week, we would like to thank everyone who joined us - our visitors, partners, supporters and the dedicated teams across all seven vineyards who helped bring the event to life.

Together, we have created the foundations for something truly special. Surrey Hills Wine Week was a celebration of our wines, our landscape and our community, and we are excited to build on this momentum throughout the season ahead.

With English Wine Week just around the corner, from Saturday June 20 to Sunday June 28, there is still plenty to look forward to across the Vineyards of the Surrey Hills this summer.

From vineyard tours and tastings to seasonal events, outdoor dining experiences and opportunities to meet the people behind the wines, our vineyards will continue to welcome visitors throughout the months ahead.

Whether you're discovering Surrey Hills wines for the first time or returning to a favourite vineyard, we look forward to sharing another summer of exceptional wine experiences in the heart of the Surrey Hills.
